Preview: Whispers In The Darkness
The dark & brooding sound of Namesis debuts on Soma with the Rave Is Dead EP. Taking inspiration from various electronic disciplines such a new beat, EBM and even industrial, Namesis have collected a solid release consisting of superbly crafted dark, synth driven music. The EP’s opening track Blade Runner, a collaboration with Corvad, has dark and futuristic overtones as jarring synths rip at the heart of the track with serious intensity. Lies Around leans on more industrial vibes with ominous sweeping pads screeching across a base of distorted synths and crashing percussion. Title Track Rave Is Dead is a sinister and dread inducing trip as a direct beat drives a hard message. Call Me Out feat the vocal stylings of Sunko is a more paced affair that still caries the twisted sounds of Namesis, with a broken beat and apocalyptic feel present from the opening. Whispers in the Dark closes out this unique release for Soma as polyrhythmic synths and epic vocals create a higher atmosphere whilst still retaining the foreboding sound of Namesis.
