For our number 8 release we offer the third installment of the Various Artists called “Transmute”, comprising works from all over the globe. California based JX-216 gives us a floating melancholic, ambient infused exercise that melts as minutes go to intelligent breaks keeping the pace relaxed. MasCon gets the groove going with this opaque funker, moving the sub frequencies wisely in a relentless dance number. Balrog touches the industrial side of things, with metallic repetitive rhythms infected with treated vocal samples and hubby atmospheres, a true hybrid. Closing the release Cyd goes melodic and broken, with harmonies floating over a complex groove and textures. Near Pop and old “Valencia” crossover feelings.
