Born in Rome, Gianluca Meloni’s musical journey began with formal piano studies at the “Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Roma.” His passion for music deepened as he discovered Tangerine Dream’s debut album, leading him to acquire his first synthesizer, a Korg MS-10. This ignited his interest in electronic music. His path crossed with guitarist Dino Sabatini, sparking a profound friendship rooted in their shared musical passion. This partnership led to the creation of the “Modern Heads” project, which saw them performing at prestigious global venues. In 2016, Meloni embarked on a solo venture named “Laertes,” driven by his fascination with electronic music, modular synthesis, and live improvisation. Through his Laertes project, Gianluca Meloni continues to innovate electronic music, seamlessly blending vintage analog aesthetics with contemporary technology.
