747's My Brain is Melting EP receives three personal reinterpretations that bring new life to the originals. Beginning with the title track, Toronto artist Jeremy Stott expertly fuses key parts of the original with dancing arpeggios and a strong sub bass to create a driving peak-time track. Oliver Nickels, co-head of Vancouver label Rhombus brings a beautiful and hedonistic version of Formula, using empyreal synths to lead the piece into a solemn breakdown that brings us to new highs in the second half of the song. To close out the release, the talented Berlin-based Hypocrite slows the tempo with a clever alternating groove that breaks down with an 808 kick drum and a sinister rhythmic pattern to create a euphonious masterpiece.
